We are working with Derbyshire Dales District Council (DDDC) to bring forward a scheme of affordable housing to meet the evident housing need in Tideswell.
A site has been identified adjacent to the Church Lane Allotments site, behind Chantry Lane/Pursglove Drive. Assuming DDDC confirm the site is viable, a planning application will be submitted and will go through the usual consultation and approval processes. You can see a list of frequently asked questions about the site.
Any housing developed on the site will meet high standards of design, with environmental aspects built in.
Future projects could include securing empty buildings and turning them into community-use assets. For example, when the Co-Op moves to its new site on Whitecross Road, we could come together as a community to register it as a community asset, decide what facilities would work best for our village, and raise funds to purchase it for the community.
